The landscape proposal for the Squirrels Short Breaks scheme takes influence from the adjacent woodland and the new building itself and is designed to embed the new building within the leafy woodland context.

New tree planting combines with mature established specimens to create a sense of retreat and promote a strong connection to nature.

The design has been developed in collaboration with the project ecologists to maximise the possible bio-diversity enhancements, these include areas of new habitat, bug hotels, bat and bird boxes, a high percentage of native planting, plus the retention and enhancement of existing ecological features where possible.

The landscape scheme is designed to be an extension of the building, providing visitors and staff with a calm, tranquil series of spaces, which delight the senses and ensure a restful and restorative stay.
